Terms of Service
Last updated 22 October 2026
These terms cover your use of Afterpage (afterpage.co), including free homepage previews and paid subscriptions. By using Afterpage you agree to them. Questions? Email contact@afterpage.co.
What Afterpage does
Afterpage builds website designs for businesses from information that's already public, such as a business's current website, Google listing and social media pages. You can preview a homepage for free. If you subscribe, we host your website, build its other pages, and give you tools to edit it.
Your account
You need an account to unlock previews and to subscribe. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you're responsible for what happens under your account.
Only create previews for a business you own or are authorised to act for, or as a prospective customer of ours who has been contacted by us.
Free previews
Previews are free and stay online for 14 days unless the business subscribes. Each account can make a limited number of free previews.
Previews are labelled as concepts and hidden from search engines. If you represent a business and want a preview of it removed, email us and we'll take it down.
Subscriptions and billing
Subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly in advance through Stripe, at the price shown when you subscribe. There is no setup fee and no minimum term.
Your website's first subscription starts with a free month (longer if you use a voucher code). We take your card details when you sign up but don't charge it during the free period. If you don't cancel before it ends, your subscription starts and you're charged automatically. Each website gets the free period once.
Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard (Manage billing); your website stays live until the end of the period you've paid for.
If a payment fails, we'll try again. If it isn't resolved, your website may go back to being a preview and then come offline.
We may change our prices. We'll tell you at least 30 days before a change affects your subscription, and you can cancel before it does.
Payments aren't refundable; see our Refund Policy.
Your content and your website
Your business name, logo, photos, text and other content stay yours. You give us permission to use them to build, host and show your website.
The design system, templates, software and our own stock and AI-generated images remain ours. While you're subscribed, you may use them as part of your website.
Your domain name stays yours. When you leave, we'll stop pointing it at our servers and you can move it elsewhere.
Some content is written or created with AI from public information. Check that everything on your website is accurate, and correct it in the editor or ask us. You're responsible for what your published website says, including prices, opening hours and claims about your services.
Showing our work
We may show a masked version of a website we built (with the business name, logo, contact details and location removed) as an example of our work. Email us if you'd rather we didn't show yours.
Acceptable use
Don't use Afterpage for anything illegal, misleading or harmful, to impersonate another business, to infringe anyone's rights, or to send spam through your website's forms. Don't try to break, overload or misuse the service.
We may remove content or suspend a website that breaks these rules.
Enquiries from your website
Messages sent through your website's contact form are emailed to you and stored in your dashboard. You're responsible for how you use and protect the personal data people send you.
Availability and changes
We work hard to keep Afterpage and your website online, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted. We may improve or change features over time.
Ending your subscription
When your subscription ends, your website goes back to being a preview and comes offline after 14 days. We may delete its files after that. Ask us before it ends if you'd like a copy of your content.
We may end a subscription that breaks these terms. If we end it for any other reason, we'll refund the unused part of your current period.
Liability
Afterpage is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or lost business, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under Malaysian consumer law that can't be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you by email or in your dashboard before it takes effect. Continuing to use Afterpage after that means you accept the new terms.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction over any dispute.
